LEGO has announced a new set dedicated to the iconic Atari 2600 , the video game console that marked an era. The box includes 2,532 pieces. It is not the first time that a vintage console has received the ‘LEGO treatment’.
The brick replica of the Atari 2600 console will be available for purchase starting August 1, at a price of 239.99 euros. Precisely on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Atari.
It is simply a wonderful set. The console is practically re-proposed in 1: 1 scale. We find three cartridges with some of the video games that made the Atari brand immortal: Centipede, Asteroids and Adventure (which is considered the first video game to have included an easter egg).
We also find a replica of the controller, while this time – unlike what is included in the set dedicated to the NES – we do not also find a replica of a vintage TV. It doesn’t matter, because the console can be opened to reveal a gorgeous diorama of a ‘nerd’ room from the 80s. In short, a truly wonderful gem.

In addition to the three video game cartridges – which can be inserted into the slot of the console -, we also find three pretty dioramas that represent the three cult.
The Atari 2600 is one of the most memorable gifts I received as a child. That’s why putting these two icons, Lego and Atari together, was an incredible experience for me. It is an amazing set. We hope that building this classic console will take you back to those happy days of your childhood, when a handful of pixels meant a world full of adventure.
