It Is Understood That The Visit Of The UN 76th General Assembly President and Maldives Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid to Armenia was used as a tool for one-sided Armenian theses, and in this context, Shahid visited the so-called genocide monument.

He was expected to be more careful and act responsibly than the aforementioned, who assumed a duty that should be fair and impartial, such as the Presidency of the UN General Assembly.

Persons representing UN authorized bodies are required to act in accordance with the UN acquis and international legal norms and rules, in particular the 1948 UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide. We condemn and reject attempts to falsify historical facts and international law through political manipulation.

Turkey is of the opinion that the facts of the 1915 events should be handled in a full, fair and honest framework.
