European countries continue to take measures to alleviate the energy crisis due to Russia’s reduced gas shipments and rising gas and electricity prices. Swiss Federal Electricity Commission Chairman Werner Luginbühl warned that temporary power cuts may occur throughout the country in winter due to the energy crisis. Luginbühl called for “to stock up on candles and wood for those who have a wood stove in their home in case of power cuts that last for a few hours”. In Spain, air conditioners cannot be lowered below 27 degrees to save energy.
