The FBI has decided that Alec Baldwin, who accidentally killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the movie, pulled the trigger.
Investigations continue into the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins during the filming of ‘Rust’ in October 2021 by American actor Alec Baldwin . According To The FBI ‘s (American Federal Bureau of Investigation) report leaked to the US press, Alec Baldwin pulled the trigger of the gun, which later turned out to be a live bullet. In his past statements, Baldwin had said that the gun did not pull the trigger, and that it fired when he cocked it.
American ABC News reached the FBI forensic report and shared the information contained therein with the public. In the report, it was stated that the gun in Baldwin’s hand ‘will not be fired without pulling the trigger’. So the FBI concluded that the gun would only fire if the trigger was pulled.
During the filming of Rust last year, Baldwin accidentally killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza while rehearsing with what she thought was safe.
MAY BE TRIED FOR MURDER
In his first interview after the incident, Baldwin, who did not admit that he shot the bullet that killed Hutchins, said, “I didn’t pull the trigger. I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger,” he said. The FBI’s report means Baldwin could face new criminal charges.
