Polestar will produce an electric convertible inspired by the O2 Concept

Polestar has announced that in 2026 it will produce its first electric convertible roadster , inspired by the recently presented O2 concept car.

The convertible should use the same electric powertrain as the Polestar 5, that is a system with double electric propulsion capable of delivering the equivalent of 884CV and guaranteeing a sprint from 0 to 100Km / h in just over 3 seconds.

The Polestar O2 Concept had won the hearts of enthusiasts, but it was anything but obvious that the company decided to use it as inspiration for a production vehicle. We are talking about a niche segment that has occupied an extremely marginal percentage within the four-wheeler industry for several years now. Ideally, the convertible will have to contend with the Tesla Roadster, which however will only come out in some time.

The convertible will be called Polestar 6 and will also receive a limited edition version – only 500 units – with the same iconic blue paintwork sported by the O2 Concept. As the Engadget website points out, it will likely be one of the few production cars to look pretty closely to the concept car it is inspired by.
