Poland freezes natural gas tariffs

Polish President Andrzej Duda signed the draft law that will ensure that next year the natural gas tariffs of households and some social facilities are the same as in 2022.

According to the legislation, natural gas prices will be capped at 200.17 zloty (42.8 euros) per megawatt hour and distribution fees will be frozen.

Gas tariffs will be frozen for everyone regardless of income level, including utilities such as households, schools, health and social care facilities.

In addition, depending on their income level, some households will also be able to apply for a VAT refund on natural gas.

The income criterion is 2100 zlotys (449 euros) per month per person in single-person households and 1500 zlotys (321 euros) per person in larger households.
