According to Parham Ghobadi of the BBC Persian service, the price of these demonstrations is heavy for Iranians.

At least 500 people, including 69 children, were killed during the protests, according to Iran’s Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA).

While two demonstrators were executed, 26 more are awaiting execution.

Despite the long-term protests held in 2017, 2018 and 2019, it is stated that the latest actions are different as they involve people from all segments of society and women lead.

Some Iranian famous names were either detained or had to go into exile because they supported the protests.
