The number of people who lost their lives in disasters and accidents caused by heavy snowfall in different parts of Japan rose to 17 and the number of injured to 93.

According to the Fire and Disaster Management Agency (Shobocho) statement, the death toll in disasters and accidents caused by heavy snowfalls rose to 17 and the number of injured to 93.

The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) reported that the snow thickness in many regions in the northeastern provinces of the country is 3 times higher than the seasonal normals.

According to the news in the national press, there are disruptions in air and rail services due to heavy rain.
