Several iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max owners are reporting an annoying bug that causes horizontal lines to appear on the display when the device is turned on. Depending on the various signals, these lines can be green or yellow and can be single or multiple. Scrolling through the replies to the various messages posted in the forums in these early hours, it seems that the problem is due to the software part and not the hardware part: good news, given that Apple engineers are probably already working to restore correct operation with an update of iOS.
The problem of the horizontal lines that appear when the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are turned on has been reported on the various pages of the official Apple forum, on those of specialized sites, and also on Reddit. Most of the iPhones that showed the bug had updated to the new iOS 16.2 version, but there are also posts related to previous versions, so this little malfunction is not only related to the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system. On the Reddit page, a user claims that an Apple engineer would have informed him that the company is aware of the bug and is already working to prepare a patch, but for the moment there is nothing official and confirmed.
Certainly this small malfunction does not compromise the normal use of the two best-performing models of the new Apple smartphone family, so if the lines appear at startup, there is no need to worry excessively and just wait for the next iOS 16 update , which could be forthcoming and include this minor fix as well.
